The Tomato Museum
The exhibition dedicated to ‘red gold’is to be housed in the ancient Corte di Giarola: a strategic location in the context of tomato growing and industrial processing. The ‘Museo del pomodoro’ tour will offer an in-depth examination of the tomato from a botanical, historical, geographical and agronomic perspective. It will also include tools and machines used from the World War period up until the present, with numerous interesting examples of technologies used during the 1940s by the most important Parma-area factories. The entire processing cycle will be exhibited in the museum’s various rooms, hence enabling uninitiated visitors to better understand the industrial process.
